(27/42) Bagels
Bagels!!! We watched You’ve Got Mail last night, and Tom Hanks’ 3-second line about H&H Bagels really got me.
These are plain bagels, half whole wheat flour, half unbleached flour. So, so delicious. One batch was a little burnt underneath because they were directly on top of our well-worn baking sheet without a silicon mat to buffer the heat. Still edible though, actually not bad at all.
This is admittedly more work than just grabbing a bag of good, flavored bagels at the store, but oh how much more satisfying it is! And shaping the dough is fun. Recipes say to roll out a rope and then connect the ends to form the bagel, but I just rolled each piece into a ball and poked my finger through them. Way easier!
